A flock of white ptarmigan camouflaged in the deep snow, Audubon,
A watercolor illustration depicts a covey of ptarmigans with white feathers, some with subtle brown markings, gathered on a snow-covered bank. In winter, ptarmigans' plumage turns white so they are harder to see in the snow.
I couldn't get this to come out the way I wanted, so I used base images, one I created with DDG Ideogram, the other with Google ImageFX.
