A painting of a narrow, cobbled street at night, with towering, colorful storybook-like houses on both sides, their facades painted in vibrant reds, oranges, blues, and ochres, often with a weathered and textured appearance. Many windows, some arched and some rectangular, glow with warm light, and several doors, predominantly red, are visible, some with small steps leading up to them. Ornate street lamps and wall lanterns cast pools of warm light onto the street and buildings. Overhead, a large, full white moon dominates a deep red, almost blood-red, sky. Thin, eerie, bare tree branches are discernible against the red sky and in the background, adding a slightly spooky or fantastical element. Electrical wires or clotheslines crisscross between some of the buildings. Balconies with railings protrude from some of the upper stories. The ground leading down the winding street is made of light-colored cobblestones, reflecting some of the light from the lanterns. The overall impression is that of a warm, mystical, and somewhat whimsical old town at night.
