Two cups holding warmth, between your silence and mine, a red flower falls. Two people sit opposite each other in a tiny midnight café, a young man and a young woman with beautiful long hair, their faces softened almost beyond recognition, as though memory has deliberately forgotten the details but kept the feeling. Between them, two pale cups glow on a small round table. Neither reaches across. Outside, rain and turquoise night dissolve the city into luminous abstraction. Above them, crimson blossoms scatter through the blue darkness, some becoming petals, some becoming brushstrokes, some simply disappearing before they reach the ground. Deep indigo and black surround a radiant pool of turquoise, cyan and peacock blue. Tiny interruptions of vermilion, rose-red, warm amber and flower-yellow flicker through the darkness. Painterly wet-on-wet watercolor merging with loose oil glazing, scraped pigment, dripping vertical strokes, blurred figures, lost edges, immense emotional negative space. Let the people remain indistinct. Paint the distance between them more carefully than their faces. Let the two cups become the quietest lights in the painting. EmmAI Fragile Vision. No text. Soul Line: Sometimes love is not the hand that crosses the table. It is the hand that almost does.
