The hour approaches and the Moon has split. And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say "It's a persistent magic". They treat it as a lie and follow their own impulses, but everything will come to its end and goal. They have received news to prevent them from harm, [this is] perfect wisdom, but warnings are of no use to them. Turn away from them. On the day when the caller calls out to something terrible, they will come out of their graves like scattered locusts, running with their necks stretched out to the caller. The unbelievers will say "This is a difficult day". Before them, the people of Noah cried out in disbelief. They treated Our servant as a liar and said "He's possessed!", and he was rejected. He then invoked his Lord, "I have been defeated, make Your cause triumphant." We then opened the gates of heaven to a torrential rain and caused the earth to burst forth with springs. The waters met according to an order that was already decreed in a matter [that had been done]. And We carried him on a [boat made of] planks and nails, sailing under Our eyes: a reward for the one who was denied [Noah]. And We left it [the boat] as a sign [of warning]. Is there anyone who will reflect? How were My punishment and My warnings? Indeed, We have made the Quran easy for contemplation. Is there anyone who will reflect? The 'Ad people treated their Messenger as a liar. How were My punishment and My warnings? We sent against them a violent and icy wind on a disastrous and endless day; it snatched people away like the roots of palm trees. How were My punishment and My warnings? Indeed, We have made the Quran easy for contemplation. Is there anyone who will reflect? The Thamud people treated the warnings as lies. They said, "Should we follow a single man [Salih] among us? We would then be in error and madness. Has the message been sent to him alone, to the exclusion of all of us? He is rather a great liar, full of pretension and pride." Tomorrow, they will know who the great liar full of pretension and pride is. We will send the she-camel to them as a test. So watch them and be patient. And inform them that the water will be shared between them [and the she-camel]; each one will drink in turn. Then they called their companion who took [his sword] and [killed the water] killed [the she-camel]. How were My punishment and My warnings then? We unleashed upon them a single Cry, and they were reduced to straw. And indeed, We have made the Quran easy for contemplation. Is there anyone who will reflect? The people of Lot treated the warnings as lies. We unleashed upon them a whirlwind, except for the family of Lot whom We saved before dawn. How were My punishment and My warnings?
