In days of old, a story told,
Of a lost tribe, so brave and bold.
They sought for land, they sought for rest,
A place to call their very best.
They sent out spies, to find a place,
To settle down, to mark their space.
In Laish they found, a peaceful town,
With riches, wealth, and great renown.
They sought advice from a Levite,
Who gave them counsel, day and night.
They stole the idols, took the priest,
And left the town in chaos, least.
The tribe of Dan, so full of greed,
Took what they wanted, without heed.
But in their quest for riches grand,
They strayed from God's divine command.
They built an altar, made a shrine,
And worshipped idols, so malign.
They lost their way, their faith, their light,
And wandered far from what was right.
A cautionary tale, so clear,
Of greed and sin, and godly fear.
In Judges 18, we see,
The consequences of infidelity.
A reminder true, to stay on track,
And not be swayed by worldly lack.
To seek God's guidance, follow His way,
And not be led astray, come what may.
