I had good luck with this particular style image, and I added color enhancements to the sky, as well as the boat and water to make the final result more effective for my base image.

For those not well versed in media techniques, this is a "scratchboard" illustration, which is accomplished by scratching off a dark ink layer with a sharp stylus to reveal a white or colored layer beneath, allowing for great detail and textured artwork also.

Whomever created this image did a great job, and their playful style gives me the urge to try scratchboard once again ... but not today :-)
