Night And Day

More about Night And Day

An abstract expressionist oil painting with a split composition. On the left side, a dark, moody night scene with a large, bright yellow full moon and an orange crescent moon in the upper left corner, surrounded by smaller orange and yellow circles, against a textured black and dark grey sky. Two bare, dark trees stand with a cloudy, muted pink and light blue landscape behind them, reflected in a dark body of water below. Square lantern-like shapes hang from the left tree and float in the water. The right side features a brighter, more vibrant daylight scene with a pale yellow and sky blue background, gradually transitioning to a rich orange and yellow at the bottom. Several red, orange, and black balloons float upwards on thin lines, some appearing to be tied to unseen anchors. A third bare, dark tree stands in the lower right, with a small section of light pink and red ground. The style is heavily textured, with visible brushstrokes, and a surreal, dreamlike quality.
