ArtistAnd finally, at the end of the day, they all repaired down to the pub where a hearty toast was made and served well, all the people danced and laughed and made merry, the fire roaring in the huge fireplace, the chairs and tables lit in the golden glow, the dancing was heartfelt and all in good fun, eyes twinkled and ruddy cheeks glowed as the people were singing and laughing, the tavern was old and timeworn, the furniture ancient and wooden, vast beams across the ceiling were picturesque and sentimental touches bedecked the pub, the atmosphere is joyous and the carousing continued through the long night of wonder and reprieve.
