**Félix González-Torres (1957-1996) -#Cuba / USA
Félix González-Torres converted minimal gesture into enormous emotional reach. Rather than literal depictions of bodies, he used objects and simple systems stacks of candy, paired clocks, untitled billboards to signify lovers, loss, presence, and absence.
The male body in his practice becomes an idea: a measurement of time, a pile that diminishes as people participate, a gentle instruction to remember rather than to display.
His art asks viewers to become participants, to take a piece or notice the small shift, and in that participation the work becomes communal memory.
Recreating his sensibility is to design an object or situation that multiplies personal associations into public mourning and care.
