A stunning Wintertime view of AN ENTIRE CITY IN RUINS, SPRAWLING ACROSS THE FOOT OF A MOUNTAIN RANGE, spread along the lower mountainside of The Brooks Range of mountains somewhere above The Arctic Circle, panoramic landscape in an aerial view, the palette of Edmund Dulac's jewel-like renderings of white, silver, gray, and a wide range of blue shades from bright iridescent blue skies to dark blue, yellow sunlight ; a watercolor and pen & ink masterpiece.

More about A Second Mysterious City in Ruins, In Earth's Polar Regions OR Indigenous To An Icy Exo-Planet

This second mysterious city is clearly a pre-industrial, possibly ancient site.

By contrast, the first mysterious city was clearly post-industrial, and it could have been built with 20th century technology. Hence, I had no problem assigning it to a terrestrial, polar location. This first city is at https://deepdreamgenerator.com/ddream/irgw5v991g7 and https://deepdreamgenerator.com/ddream/ty7behuipje .

So, then, the title of this piece comes from my indecision in constructing backstory/writing prompts for the image. Should I place this city on Earth or on another planet ? If this city is Terran, were the builders humans or some other pre-industrial species, e.g., Reptilians descended from dinosaurs, or Lemurians of some sort (note that ancient aliens wouldn't live in such primitive conditions, and Ultraterrestrials like the fae wouldn't need cities on this level of reality). If the location is exo-planetary, why did the planet's indigenous people abandon it? Is this species extinct at the time of the story setting ?

Once indecision creeps in, I often wind up with self-replicating story lines.
