Although some technologies, like neural networks, are easier to implement in Analog technology than in Digital technology, Digital benefits from economies of scale. So we can make maybe 100,000 digital TV's for the same price as maybe only 1,000 hand-wired Analog ones. Also, Digital technology can be debugged and corrected after the user has purchased it, enabling quicker development and upgrades. (Unfortunately, updates can also cause system failures, as in the well-known internet viruses). Another advantage is it is quite difficult or impossible to some things with Analog technology, such as invoicing and the management of large quantities of information. There is however a "light at the end of the tunnel" -- quantum computing, and "Hybrid" computing, a blend of Analog and Digital :)
