Dataline July 2115. Vandanai scientists have built a pair of Alcubierre Teleporters, one at Victoria Station, and one at Nottingham Station. More are to follow, when the usage pattern has been tabulated. As described in Wanderland University course UFO101, the Alcubierre Teleporter works by shrinking the space in front of you and simultaneously expanding the space behind you, hence teleporting you much faster than the conventional StarTrek Teleporter (which is limited by the data bandwidth carrying your DNA database image). Looking remarkably like a Tardis, these cubicles are coloured purple and coated in simulated velvet, in homage to Princess Sheila, the principal of the Vandanai Corporation. The cubicle at Nottingham Station is conveniently placed for the East Midlands and its N.E.T. travelator network, while the one at Victoria is conveniently placed for the South Kensington supermuseum and Barbara's Carnaby Street fashionwear emporium. A return Teleporter ticket is currently priced at 100 New Pounds, half the price of a can of Pokey Cola.
