The construction of the Szigetvár Vigadó was started based on the settlement development plans of the 1990s, on one of the older plots of land in the city, on József Attila Street. The building's plans were prepared by Imre Makovecz, the Hungarian creator of organic architecture. The architect's style is clearly visible in the unique appearance of the Vigadó, which bears the hallmarks of organic architecture. The pair of towers reminiscent of Gaudí, the row of domes inspired by the anthroposophical movement, and the unique shapes of the building all highlight this attraction.
