ArtistSunset over snowy fields. 16:9 full width oil painting viewed fully frontally. The image is shown close up and extends well beyond the visible edges, allowing full enjoyment of all breathtaking, extremely tiny details. The style is a combination of the exceedingly detailed landscape photorealistic Hyperrealism of contemporary Austro-Argentinian painter Helmut Ditsch and the almost naïve poster-like winter landscapes of Austrian painter Alfons Walde. The motif is a sunset between cinematic, gently rolling, meadow-covered hills. The sun has almost set, with the top of the magenta-orange sun still visible above the very low horizon line. The sky around the sun is colored in a zentangley, detailed jumble of all shades of magenta, orange, pink, and yellow. The sky colors pale to light blue higher up and gradually turn dark blue toward the top of the image. The rolling hills to the left and right of the setting sun are fully enveloped in snow. The snow takes on shades ranging from a reflection of the yellow-orange sunlight close to the sun to a pale white farther away. The meadows in the foreground are gentle slopes. Wherever the sun no longer illuminates the snow, deep shadows have formed, gray lavender closer to the sun, and deep blue farther away. The shadows are exquisitely detailed and masterfully sculptural. Toward the edges of the image, the deep blue of the shadows and of the sky fuse, beautifully surrounding and framing the sun, which draws viewers in. The oil painting is colorful, wistful, powerful and museum-worthy. Meticulous, innovative craftsmanship, with alternately smooth oil paint with tiny brushstrokes and palette knife impasto paint highlighting the shadows. Contemporary masterpiece.
You can almost feel the snow in this digital painting.
