It is where the souls of warriors who have died in battle are taken to feast and fight alongside the gods in preparation for Ragnarok, the final battle between the gods and giants. The hall is ruled by Odin, the chief of the gods, and is said to contain 540 doors, through which 800 warriors can march out at a time.
