The Baptism of Christ, an oil on canvas painting, depicts two men standing in a body of water with three cherubs and a dove in a light-filled cloud above them. The man on the left side of the painting, John the Baptist, has long brown hair and a beard. He wears a red robe covered with a fur garment and holds a staff with a white cloth wrapped around it in his left hand. His right arm is outstretched towards the man on the right, Jesus Christ. Jesus has long, light brown hair and a beard and looks upwards with his head tilted slightly to the right. He is topless and covered from the waist down with a light blue cloth. He places his right hand on his chest, and his left arm is extended towards the viewer, palm up. Above them, a dove with outstretched wings descends from a bright light towards Jesus. Around the dove, four cherubs with curly hair and wings emerge from soft, light-colored clouds. The cherubs look downwards towards the two men. The scene is set in a mountainous landscape with rolling hills in the background on both sides of the river, and the sky is light blue with scattered clouds.
