Last night at about midnight I heard a loud scraping noise right across the back wall, behind my bed. As I am on an outside wall, it couldn't have been the neighbours, whose voices one can occasionally hear through the wall late at night. On previous occasions I have heard loud footsteps walk across my bed-sitting room floor, too loud to have been the neighbours. I have checked the soundproofing, by playing loud music during the day, and standing ouside my first floor window, and it is barely audible, and then only if you know what to listen for. Very spooky. There was a rumour that my previous landlord disposed of his girlfriend by enclosing her in a condrete wall, but then there would be a dreadful smell wouldn't there? I've checked all the walls and the exterior dimensions, and there's no "priest holes" or hideaways stuffed there, nor hidden stairways or secret passages. Time to do some neighbourhood research?
