The Mord-Sith are Lord Rahl's bodyguards. They are trained from an early age to fight and endure intense pain.
Cara is a Mord-Sith and an athletic young woman with considerable strength for her physique. As a Mord-Sith, she skillfully wields the Agiel and can turn any magic against the user. She proves to be a capable fighter, taking on several armored soldiers and often wielding two Agiels at once. She is shown several times turning the power of a sorcerer against them. In this sense, her ability to turn a sorcerer's magic seems limited to reflecting attacks back at the user. She can also stop thrown Dacras and reflect them back at the attackers. One of her most useful powers is the "Breath of Life," a Mord-Sith power used to revive recently killed people. Under certain circumstances, this power doesn't work, such as when the body is too damaged to be saved, when the windpipe has been severed, or when the body has been cooling for too long. Cara is also one of the most agile and skilled fighters in the series. She can easily dodge arrows and push others out of harm's way, and she's very quick to kill others in combat.
