Alice (Lewis Carroll character) runs straight toward us across the chessboard, heading for the last row's square, above which, like an object in a computer game, a golden multi-pointed crown illuminated with a blue halo hovers low. Pursuing the Alice are a furious black war elephant (a somewhat comical character combining the appearance of a black chess bishop and a real menacing war elephant with tusks and a raised trunk), along with a black war knight (a somewhat comical character that combines the appearance of the black chess knight with a leaping, shiny black horse with menacingly gleaming eyes and a row of magnificent horse teeth visible beneath its upper lip). The chase also involves two identical-looking black pawns (depicted as two clumsy, squat medieval foot soldiers in black battle armor, wearing closed helmets and holding swords). In the distance, threateningly waving her arms towards us, is the black chess queen with a black crenelated crown on her head, dressed in a black floor-length gown (looking like an evil fairy-tale queen). On the horizon at opposite corners of the image, the faint outlines of two black crenelated towers can be seen. The entire chase scene for the Alice takes place on the chessboard. The pursuit looks frantic and tense (as the black pieces rush to catch the Alice), and, at the same time, extremely comical.
A wide, low-angle shot on a giant chessboard shows Alice in Wonderland running towards the viewer, mouth open in a surprised scream, wearing her traditional blue dress and white apron. Behind her, a black warhorse with a saddle follows closely, and next to it, a large, dark elephant with white tusks charges forward. Further back, a fully armored knight in dark metal armor wields a sword in his right hand. To the right of the elephant, the Queen of Hearts is seen from the chest up, with a dark crown on her head, wearing a dark, flowing dress, her arms thrown out. In the foreground, black chess pieces (a rook, a knight, a pawn, and a queen) are positioned on the board. A golden crown with blue jewels is floating above the chessboard, glowing with blue energy tendrils that swirl around it and illuminate some of the squares brightly. The sky above is a dramatic mixture of dark clouds with hints of purple and pink from the sunset.
