Table to Share
We thought it was the table to share the holidays with our family and relatives. But no one really wanted to be here unless they were going to criticize. Having a dining room was a luxury for a mixed race and immigrant family like ours. I guess that everyone who visited and said it felt too cramped didn't care that we tried. Normally, we would have a meal in front of the TV sitting on the floor at the dining table that westerners think is a coffee table. So putting the dining room table western style for everyone wasn't good enough. But they weren't sitting on the floor and they still didn't accept us.
