Imbolc: A keltic calender fest.
Winter still reigns, but something stirs beneath the ground. Sheep give milk, the days lengthen, the first light returns. Imbolc represents purification and promise, not completion. A subtle but important difference.
A detailed colored pencil and digital painting depicts a smiling young woman with short, wavy, bright red hair, wearing a flowing, light purple dress. She kneels barefoot on overgrown grass and holds a burning white candle in a small, dark bowl with her cupped hands. The bowl contains green leaves or herbs around the candle. Her eyes are closed in contentment, and faint freckles are visible on her shoulders and chest.
To her left, a stone fireplace with warm, orange flames blazing from burning logs is the focal point. The fireplace is adorned with intricate Celtic knot patterns carved into its facade. A lush garland of pink, white, and pale green roses, along with green leaves and small white flowers, cascades gracefully over the top and down the left side of the fireplace. At the base of the fireplace, a dark, rustic pitcher with a handle sits on the ground, surrounded by pink flowers. Another burning white candle, surrounded by a ring of colorful roses (pink, white, cream, and deep red) and green foliage, is placed on the grass in front of the fireplace and to the left of the kneeling woman. Small, smooth stones and additional carvings are visible around the base of the hearth.
