Artist
Lantern Orchard
She walks where winter forgets
to be only winter,
between white blossoms
and the soft, unlearning snow.
Gold light floats everywhere,
not falling, not rising,
just hovering,
like kindness with nowhere to go.
The trees are quiet mouths
full of unsent prayers,
their branches thin as old handwriting
the wind never dares to read.
Her coat is a small sunrise
kept close to the body,
a warm secret
moving through a blue, listening world.
And if you look long enough,
you’ll feel it,
the year leaving its last gentle gift
in the air
not a promise,
not a goodbye,
only this luminous hush
that says, keep going.
