There are many causes and longings regarding religion. We must all be accepting of other people's need (or lack of need) for religion. Some of us use religion as a way to explain the mysteries of the Universe and its creation. Other people use (or are forced to use) religion as a means of social control, particularly in the days before the widespread availability of books and other educational media. It is said by many that God incarnated on earth in order to correct the many false ideas that people had about religion, and its ritual sacrifices and killings of other humans. However, looking at the many "holy" wars that mindless obedience to supposed rules produced by humans (God would never induce another human to kill), history shows that God's incarnation has been ignored, and indeed is now used as an annual marketing campaign that we blindly call the "Mass of Christ" (Christmas). I have too much respect for Jesus to call myself a "Christian". (This I seem to remember is a quote from Gandhi). Religion has been used as a way to divide communities, induce hatred, and misrepresent the word of God. Eastern religions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Tantra, tend to be more philosophical and psychological in their approach, in order to gradually draw out (educate) the guidelines which enable humans to live peacefully together in mutually caring communities; rather than enforce systems of blind reward and punishment on those who are unilaterally deemed not to "fit" in their preconceptions of civilization. This also applies to what we call "science", look how the Pope tortured people like Galileo, and how the so-called "religious" practitioners set fire to wise women (often called "witches"). Look at the deliberate and fraudulent misreprentation by certain cults of the writings of other cults, and their gaslighting and blackmailing practices. Much more can (and will) be said about all this, but for now we will wrap this. Always fill your day with wonderful things :)
