More about Witches, Wizards and Fairies Part 14 The Archivist of Unspoken Names

The Archivist of Unspoken Names records those who were never remembered. Not the forgotten — but those who were never spoken of at all. Stillborn names, erased identities, lives that passed without witness. It wanders through invisible spaces, collecting these absent traces and inscribing them into its endless archive. The books it guards cannot be read by the living; their pages shift, refusing to be understood. Occasionally, a person may hear their own name whispered when no one is near. This is said to be the Archivist checking its records. If a name goes unspoken for too long, it fades — and the Archivist begins to unravel slightly, as if losing substance. It depends on absence, yet fears it. Those who encounter it often feel an overwhelming urge to speak — to name themselves, to declare their existence. Those who fail to do so may find that others slowly stop noticing them, until they too become an entry in a book that cannot be opened.

A dramatic and surreal digital illustration depicts a cloaked figure, seemingly made from stitched-together parchment or book pages, standing amidst a swirling vortex of open and closed books, loose papers, and glowing, illegible text, all set against a dark background with a narrow path of stacked books receding into the distance.
The central figure is an abstract, faceless humanoid, its head smooth and bone-like with horizontal stitches across the mouth area. Its body is draped in a long, tattered cloak and tunic, meticulously crafted from layered, discolored pages covered in faint, unreadable script. The material of the garment gives the impression of being held together by thick, visible stitches along the seams.

Books and individual sheets of paper are everywhere, some open with intricate lettering, others closed and bound in dark, worn covers. They float and drift around the figure, creating a sense of dynamic movement and an otherworldly atmosphere. A dark, winding path of closely stacked books is visible in the background on the right, spiraling away into the depth of the image.

Interspersed among the floating books and pages are ethereal, glowing blue and green letters and words, resembling titles or names, contributing to the mystical and scholarly ambiance. The lighting is low
