The alien spacecraft lay half-buried in the violet sediment of an unknown world, its once-symmetrical hull twisted into impossible angles by a violent landing. The vessel appeared grown rather than manufactured: layers of iridescent metallic tissue folded over one another like the petals of an enormous flower, reflecting shifting bands of turquoise, gold, and deep crimson. Long fractures ran across its surface, exposing chambers filled with pulsing bioluminescent veins that glowed softly beneath translucent membranes. Wisps of silver vapor escaped from ruptured vents and drifted upward before bending sideways, as though the planet’s gravity obeyed unfamiliar rules. The surrounding landscape possessed a dreamlike, surreal quality. Towering crystal spires erupted from the ground at random angles, some appearing to float several meters above the surface while casting shadows in entirely different directions. The sky shimmered with layered rings of pale emerald and lavender light, beneath which three distant moons hung motionless. Vegetation covered the terrain in bizarre abundance. Trees resembled gigantic glass corals, their transparent branches carrying liquid light instead of sap. Vast carpets of spiral-shaped plants unfurled slowly across the ground, revealing intricate patterns that shifted color whenever the wind touched them. Balloon-like flowers hovered above the soil on thin strands of living filament, gently pulsing with internal constellations of light. Nearby pools contained mirror-black liquid reflecting scenes that did not match the surrounding landscape, suggesting glimpses of places existing beyond ordinary reality.
