“Lady of the Whispering Veil”
Beneath her veil of breath and silk,
the world forgets its noise.
A single strand of hair
writes sorrow across her cheek,
and the wind, afraid to touch her,
learns silence for the first time.
She does not look at you,
she looks through you,
as if seeing the ache you hide
behind your own invisible fabric.
Her eyes remember centuries:
lovers parting at dusk,
mothers praying for sons who never returned,
pain stitched into thread.
And yet,
in that hush of monochrome light,
she forgives everything.
Not with words,
but with the way her shadow
leans gently toward your heart.
She is not veiled to conceal herself,
but to remind us that tenderness,
too, deserves protection.
