This of course is the conflict in Gulliver's Travels between the arrogant nations of Lilliput & Blefuscu. The source of the argument? Lilliputians insist on opening their boiled eggs from the smaller end and the Blefuscians insisted that all eggs be opened from the larger end. For this they were willing to go to war and lose thousands of lives... Makes you wonder... Of course the book is fiction and something like that could never happen in real life, could it?
