This painting depicts a nightmare and is rendered the combined style of Zdzislaw Beksinski, Wassily Kandinsky and Kay Nielsen, with minor influence by the combined works of Rafal Olbinski, Martin Johnson Heade and Hanna Yata. In the nightmare, a middle aged entrepreneur who we willl call "Our Hero" is speaking in front of a crowd of unsympathetic critic. As Our Hero is speaking he discovers that his microphone and slide presentation have both been sabotaged. To add salt to this wound, an upstart huckster in the audience decides to hijack the venue as a platform for their own interests. Our Hero is middle aged with dark unkempt hair and has just entered this nineteenth century lecture hall from a rain storm outside. The drama of the scene arises from Our Hero attempting to recapture the attention of his audience through sheer audacity.
