Once upon a time, in the shadow of the Black Mountains, there lived a noble knight, Sir Caelan. He was brave, loyal, and feared no one. However, legends whispered to him about a curse buried deep in his heart, where time stood still and stone wept.
One stormy night, the queen fell seriously ill, and only a rare flower - the Moonshadow Flower - could save her. It was said that it grew in a meadow near the cursed forest. Sir Caelan rode towards the meadow without hesitation, his armor shining silver.
He saw the flower in an instant, its petals glowing faintly. He wanted to pluck it, but as he reached for it, a voice echoed:
“To take what is sacred, you must pay in kind.”
Caelan did not flinch.
The moment he plucked the flower, the earth trembled. His limbs went rigid, his body hardened. Stone crawled over his skin, sealing his fate. Yet his eyes remained open, forever watching the path he walked.
To this day, travelers speak of a statue in the meadow by the forest—a kneeling knight, his gaze filled with silent courage. And when the moonlight was just right, some said they heard the flowers whisper:
“Here you see the knight turned to stone.”
