n.b. I really did dream once that I was in a place of fancy architecture, looking up at a sky full of gemstones. I would have been seven or eight years old. When I started to wake up, I tried hard to go back to sleep, but trying hard just made me more awake, until I acknowledged to myself that the dream was gone.
