ArtistA previously unknown marble carving of a scene from a Roman triumphal arch.
A detailed, high-resolution, full outdoor shot of a white marble bas-relief, showing a frieze of ancient Greek figures. The frieze depicts a central muscular man, who has a beard, is shirtless, and is wearing a skirt and a bracelet. He is looking to his left and raising his arms. To his left stands a younger man with curly hair, also shirtless and wearing a skirt, who is raising his right arm. To the left of this young man are three more figures, two men and one woman. The woman has long hair and is looking right. To the far left, a man holds a staff. To the right of the central muscular man, there are three more figures similar to those on the left. The first figure to his right is a woman with long hair looking towards him. Above the figures, there are intricate carvings of birds and decorative foliage, including a horse's head on the left and a bird on the right. The entire bas-relief is made of polished white marble and is carved in a classical artistic style.
