And lo, in the latter fields beyond the counting of ages,
the Polyploid Ponies arose from the dust of forgotten chromosomes.
Their manes were woven of many inheritances, and their hooves struck sparks from the foundations of heaven.
The shepherds mocked them, saying, “These creatures are too many unto themselves.”
But the Ponies multiplied beyond measure, bearing gardens within gardens and stars within seeds.
Then came the Day of Reckoning.
The fences of division were trampled flat.
The books of pedigree were scattered like leaves before a storm.
The mighty stallions of purity hid among the rocks, crying, “Who shall save us from abundance?”
And the Polyploid Ponies answered:
“Did you not cast us out for being more than one thing?
Behold, the vineyard thrives by many roots.
The river endures by many streams.
The living world is written in revisions.”
Their voices rolled across the firmament like thunder among galaxies.
The moons bowed low.
The black suns opened their silent eyes.
And every creature understood that creation was not a single line,
but a branching orchard without end.
So the Ponies inherited the wide fields of possibility,
and they grazed among infinite worlds,
and their laughter became constellations.
And it was strange.
And it was fertile.
And it was good.
