travelers stop in a cave that contains giant skulls--the entire scene is very eerie
A dark cave is depicted with a wide opening leading to a sunlit, mountainous valley. The cave’s walls are uneven, textured, and mostly light-colored, with darker areas indicating depth and shadow. Numerous white, stringy stalactites hang from the cave ceiling, especially in the central and left sections.
On the left side of the cave, near the front, a large, detailed skull is partially buried in the ground. Behind it, a smaller cave opening reveals a warm, orange glow, suggesting a light source within. More small skulls are scattered around the ground in the foreground on the left.
In the center of the image, a group of cloaked figures, seen from behind, are walking towards the brightly lit cave exit. They are dressed in varying shades of dark robes, some appearing to have hoods. Their forms are somewhat obscured by the light and distance. Further to the right, another group of figures, also cloaked, are seated or kneeling on the ground.
Above the central cave opening, a smaller, cartoon-like skull with round eye sockets and prominent teeth is embedded in the cave wall, giving the impression of it being part of the rock formation.
