Wands – The Silent Tools of Magicians
Since the earliest times of humankind, legends have told of people who sought to understand the hidden forces of the world. They observed the stars, listened to the wind in the trees, and studied the secret patterns of nature. From this quest for knowledge arose many symbols of magic – circles, runes, signs, and artifacts. One of the best-known and most mysterious tools of this tradition is the wand. The wand is far more than a simple wooden stick. In the traditions of many cultures, it is considered an extension of its bearer's will – an instrument capable of focusing thoughts, knowledge, and energy. Some were crafted from sacred trees, others from wood cut under special celestial constellations. Many of these wands bear engravings: runes, sun symbols, lunar phases, or ancient symbols whose meaning has been lost over the centuries.
