Private Stellar Yacht / Extra-Territorial Leisure Class
Designation: Pelagic-Void Hybrid
Registry: Discretionary
Availability: By Invitation Only
At a certain altitude of wealth, oceans become repetitive. At a certain distance from
origin, horizons grow provincial. This craft exists for clients who have reached both
limits and found them wanting. It is not built to cross water. It is built to erase the
distinction between sea and sky.
The hull geometry is grown, not assembled—its curvature tuned to slip equally
through pressure waves and photon wash. External lighting is calibrated to register
as moonrise on most Class-M worlds and as auroral drift on atmospheres that never
evolved weather. Interior spaces are arranged not by deck, but by mood: dining
aligned with local starfall, lounges canted toward visible spiral arms, private
observation chambers tuned to the client’s preferred definition of solitude. The ocean
below is a courtesy. The cosmos above is the real itinerary.
Propulsion remains proprietary. Officially, the yacht “glides.” Unofficially, it negotiates
with gravity. Wake signatures have been recorded bending both water and vacuum
in the same motion profile. Guests often report the sensation that the vessel is not
moving through environments, but selecting between them.
Ownership of this class confers no strategic authority, no trade advantage, no
jurisdictional leverage. It grants only one thing: the ability to choose one’s
background at will. Yesterday’s constellations become décor. Yesterday’s worlds
become views.
Clients frequently ask how far it can travel. The correct question is how far one
wishes to be from anyone who can ask that.
Demand exceeds construction capacity by a factor the manufacturers decline to
publish. Qualification is assessed not in credits alone, but in demonstrated tolerance
for envy.
The stars, like most luxuries, look different when they are yours.
