The Banquet of Betrayal when Osiris is murdered by his brother Set. Set becomes jealous of Osiris. At a banquet, Set unveils a magnificent chest and announces: "Whoever fits perfectly inside may keep it." Osiris lies down in the chest. Instantly Set's accomplices slam the lid shut, nail it closed, seal it with lead, and throw it into the Nile. This is one of the most memorable episodes in Egyptian mythology.
A multi-panel illustration depicting scenes from ancient Egypt, featuring a grand indoor setting with ornate gold pillars and hieroglyphs. The top panel shows a gathering of people in traditional ancient Egyptian attire, with one prominent figure wearing a distinct black horned headdress and gold armor, extending his hand towards an open sarcophagus containing a mummified body with a golden mask. Other attendants surround the sarcophagus, with some appearing to prepare it for closure, while one kneels beside it, fastening a latch. Fruits and golden chalices are visible on a nearby table. The lower panel shows men pulling a golden casket from the water's edge, creating a splash, with a smaller ornate boat carrying several men holding torches in the background.
