Erithacus alienus exists solely at moments when it dwells in the interstices of perception. Its song can be heard across four dimensions by entities with an inverted experience of time. The helmet‑shaped beak functions as an antenna for absent melancholy, and its wings beat with memories of wind. Its eggs hatch before they are laid. Habitat: paradoxical zones where silence masquerades as sound, preferably at the time intersection where forgotten alphabets migrate through the air like pollen.
Based on the unwritten encyclopedia:
’Pataphysics / La ’Pataphysique
• Invented by: Alfred Jarry (1873–1907), French writer and provocateur
• Definition: “The science of imaginary solutions” — a parody of metaphysics, focused on exceptions and absurdities
• Name: The apostrophe prevents confusion with metaphysics; also a pun on “pas ta physique” (“not your physics”)
• Followers: The Collège de ’Pataphysique (Paris, 1948) and international academies (Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Germany, Canada — and wherever logic briefly takes a holiday)
