ArtistThis surface is a reflection of my own skill set, interests, and personality, and has a number of interpretations: I have less patience for tasks that are both easy and very familiar (e.g., boring). I’ll accept higher friction if a task is both familiar as well as moderately challenging (e.g., fun). I have less patience the more unfamiliar a task is; here, it’s easy to get “stuck” (e.g., frustrating). I’ll also tend to avoid tasks of extreme difficulty (e.g., defeating).
Two people are seated at a shiny, reflective dark gray table, positioned to face away from each other. They each hold a pen and are writing or drawing on individual black or dark gray rectangular pads. The person on the left is wearing a dark short-sleeved top and holds a silver pen with a black rubber tip on one end, their pen pointed towards the pad. The person on the right has their left hand visible, which is adorned with black nail polish. They are wearing a dark knitted fingerless glove on their left hand, which is resting on another dark gray rectangular pad. A silver pen is partially visible near their gloved hand, and their index finger is touching the pad. The scene is well lit, with reflections of the hands, pens, and pads visible on the table surface. The background is a soft, out-of-focus light gray, possibly a wall or window.
