Dandelion Seed

Fly intrepid seed
Fly to realms beyond
Carry my dreams there
To one my heart belongs

Glisten in the sun
Your feathered top aloft
Speed until your journey's done
Though breezes may be soft

When you light be certain
And plant your cargo deep
To bloom one day where lovers stay
And dream in waking sleep

Give my dream to one most fair
You'll know the one I pray
So she will know my heart is there
Not in this field I lay

In season thrive and fill your clock
With faithful sons and daughters
That when the wind returns my way
They'll fly back o'er the waters

And land in thaw this frozen field
Where I will still be waiting
Low beneath this weathered stone
Bouquets of flowers fading

To bloom anew in misty dew
Their sunny blooms display
Delivered dreams of other days
When innocents, we played
