Many millions of years ago, near the planet Tamar, an icy comet collided with a small planetoid, a former satellite of the planet. The planetoid shielded Tamar, saving it from destruction, but was itself completely destroyed in the process. The only reminder of this cosmic catastrophe now remains an asteroid belt formed from the debris of the planetoid and the comet, which remained orbiting the planet. On clear nights, the inhabitants of Tamar see a beautiful belt of numerous glittering and shimmering dots in the sky, shining in the sunlight of Epsilon.
