Hans in Luck
As payment for seven years of work, Hans receives a lump of gold the size of his head. He trades this for a horse, the horse for a cow, the cow for a pig, the pig for a goose, and the goose for a grindstone and a simple fieldstone. He feels as if he has traded in such a way that everything he wishes for comes true, and he feels favored by luck "like a child born on a Sunday." Finally, as he is about to drink, the two heavy stones fall into a well. At last, he is happy not to have to carry the heavy stones anymore."There is no one under the sun as happy as I am!" he exclaimed. With a light heart and free from all burdens, he went on his way until he arrived home at his mother's house.
