I can’t walk into a bookstore without making sure stacks of books are perfectly aligned. I can’t walk into a clothes store without making sure the clothes are perfectly aligned on the hangers. I will stack things during a conversation if there are things to stack in front of me. I get anxious when someone breaks my everyday routines. I am irritable when someone doesn’t follow the set rules. I can seem strict, uptight, anti-social or socially awkward. It only gets worse the older I get.

Perfectionism makes it hard to be a traditional artist. It will never be good enough. Not for you. For me. Symmetry must be perfect. No detail out of line. Spaces must be even. Not on others. On mine. A pattern must be a pattern. And it must keep going. Perfectly and evenly.
