In isolation I grew too dark.
I lost my way, my voice grew dim.
I deferred too often.
Conditioned to wince.
Loss grew upon me.
My dreams fractured before my feet.
Renewing what I lost, sealing my vow.
No victory to win, no spoils to assign.
Owning the blame no forest could consume.
Now the light warms my face.
For the woods are not to be feared, a beautiful place.
To be, means little when you cannot see.
For the veil lifts upon a brilliant day.
Strength met kindness, found in the common ground of love's grace.
