The Tupperware Thief
In a kitchen not far from a meadow so wide,
Lived a small grey dragon with nowhere to hide.
He wasn’t quite fearsome, no fire or claws—
But he did have a habit that broke all the laws.
He’d sneak through the cupboards with quiet delight,
At midnight precisely, not early or night.
He wasn’t after cookies, or gold, or some ribs…
This sneaky young dragon just stole all the lids!
Round ones and square ones, in blue, green, or red,
He’d hoard them in piles beneath Mama’s bed.
Snap-on and twisty, he’d tuck them away,
Then cackle and burp as he flew off each day.
“My soup has no cover!” Dad cried in despair.
“And where is my lunch box?!” yelled Mum through the air.
The dog blamed the cat, and the cat blamed the mouse—
But nobody knew there was DRAGON in-house!
Till one day young Timmy looked under the bed…
And found thirty-nine lids and one dragon head.
“I’m sorry!” it sniffled, all covered in cheese—
“I just really like them… They stack up with ease!”
Now he lives in the pantry, with rules set in place:
No stealing the lids from the human race.
But he is allowed one, which he wears on his tail—
A proud little thief in a snap-on red pail!
