Before psychosis you are normal, after, nothing is the same. Your entire worldview has broken. And you believe yourself different. You know certain things. You know about the lack of certain others. And the discrepancy between what you know and what you cannot know (because it is actually impossible to), eats you alive. You had experiences indescribable, because they were so vivid and intrinsically linked to yourself and your worldview, that noone else could ever possibly understand, or so you think.
At first you go into denial, you believe it was a farce, a solitary event in an otherwise normal life. You decide to go on as you were.
But if then, by chance, another of these once-in-a-lifetime events occurs, you start to question, not whether you are sane, but whether you are insane. Because after all your own experiences are your point of reference.
Or at least, that's my version of events - one of them at least.
