More about THE BOY WHO SAILED

Join Fredrik and Father Carl as they sail through the beautiful archipelago of Karlskrona, Sweden. On the snipa, a traditional Swedish boat, Fredrik learns more about their beautiful home, how to navigate the waters, and most importantly, how to dream. This small, charming story is suitable for young readers and the whole family.

The story begins with Father Carl and Fredrik walking to the snipa. Father gives some warnings before they set sail. Fredrik asks his father where they are heading. He explains they’re heading to the mainland. Father lets Fredrik handle the tiller as they eat breakfast on the sail. Along the way, the young boy learns about the archipelago they live in and how ships and boats behave in the water. He shares his dream with his father about being a sailor, which makes Carl smile.
Fredrik ends up seasick after hours on the boat, and they detour to Aspo island. There, they have lunch
