The Mirror Devourer is not bound to a single place—it exists wherever reflections linger too long. Ancient accounts describe it as a being born from vanity and self-obsession, feeding on those who lose themselves in their own image. It does not attack the body, but the perception of self. Those who encounter it often first notice something wrong in their reflection—a delayed movement, an unfamiliar expression, or a second face staring back. Once the connection is made, the Devourer begins to pull its victim inward, replacing their reflection with fragments of others it has already consumed. Over time, the victim loses their sense of identity, unable to distinguish reality from illusion. Eventually, they vanish—not physically at first, but from mirrors, then from photographs, and finally from existence itself. What remains is another distorted face within the Devourer’s shifting form, endlessly repeating the moment of realization.
