Yesterday I was able to refresh my art povra paint supply. And begin to repaint over Sketch pad under paintings. Part of my process, I used regular sketch pad left over from the 1990s. Yes it's that old. Then I gesso lightly with a wash of expired wall paint medium and acrylic tempera paint. The stretches as a blue base, typically Prussian blue. And if I have leftover acrylics to mix in for a wash it's added. Then I begin after it dries for my 15-minute art self-care session daily. Not focused on anything compositionally in particular. Simply emotive, brushstrokes that seem expressionless. At first the process seamed welcome. As I had previously oil painted long ago focusing on figure work however. But it quickly turned into frustration. Understanding each 15 minutes allows for a set time just like any study. And to be uploaded or used as a digital base - - something I've done in the past and added to my computer art that I no longer do either. Nothing just so. Just simply part of the daily process. This makes year two... That's how I use that time and if I rework things that I've already put 15 minutes into.
