Cocktails with the captain, , on a cruise ship, blend of Action Painting and naive art, use of vivid colour palette that combines both pastel and bright tones, spontaneous and unstructured feel, thick applications of paint, resulting in a three-dimensional effect that brings subject to life , dreamy painterly illustration, influenced by Rose Wylie, Justin Gaffrey,
An oil painting on canvas depicts a social scene on the deck of a large cruise ship at dusk. In the foreground, a stylish woman with her dark hair styled in a voluminous updo turns to look at the viewer over her shoulder. She wears a colorful patterned blouse in shades of yellow, pink, and blue, and holds a stemmed glass filled with a yellowish liquid. Her expression is calm and contemplative, with large, expressive eyes and red lips. To her right, a crowd of people is gathered in groups, chatting and drinking. A couple stands closely, a man in a dark suit talking to a woman in a long pink dress, both holding glasses. Further back, other passengers are scattered along the deck, some leaning against the railing to view the sunset. The cruise ship's white hull features rows of round portholes and several square panels of yellow, orange, and purple, with a string of glowing globe lights hanging above. The sky is painted with swirls of blue, white, and a bright orange-yellow sunset breaking through the clouds. The ocean to the left is a textured expanse of deep blue waves reflecting the light of the setting sun. The overall texture of the painting is thick and impasto.
