Duino Castle, Italy. Rainer Maria Rilke's Duinese Elegies were partly created here. There is also a pianoforte that Franz Liszt played on during his stay there. The Counts of Chambord, Empress Sisi and Emperor Franz Josef I, Archduke Maximilian with Charlotte, Eleonora Duse, Johann Strauss, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Paul Valéry, Mark Twain, Victor Hugo and Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria often attended the castle Visit. The physicist Ludwig Boltzmann died in Duino in 1906.
